WHAT YOU'LL LEARN...
✔ A quick color wash across the entire canvas gets this piece underway.
✔ No need to use a grid for these organic shapes; blocking in the pumpkins is simplified by focusing on the outer shape first.
✔ Adding the ribs of the pumpkin is a matter of identifying the light and shadow sides - simple once you've identified your light source.
✔ Grounding the pumpkins with shadows on the table will help them come into place.
✔ Then it's time to start playing with the background, using soft color glazes to suggest areas just out of focus, and small circles of light to suggest shimmer and sparkle.
✔ Finally, we'll add a leaf on top of the largest pumpkin, adding a little interest and whimsy to the scene.
